OUR STANDARD
High standards aren't an extra.
The way a project is managed matters as much as the finished result. Preparation, communication, responsibility and attention to detail are expected from the beginning.
This is the standard The 1 Percent Team expects of itself, the people it works with and the projects it takes responsibility for.
HOW WE OPERATE
The standard runs through everything.
Good delivery is rarely about one dramatic decision. It comes from doing the important things properly, consistently and without needing to be reminded.
Prepare properly
Understand the work, anticipate the decisions and make sure the right people know what is expected before problems have the opportunity to grow.
Communicate clearly
Clients should not need to chase to understand what is happening. Changes, decisions and problems are communicated clearly and at the right time.
Take responsibility
If something needs dealing with, it does not get passed around until somebody else owns it. Responsibility stays with the people capable of resolving it.
Notice the detail
When expectations are high, the things that are easiest to overlook are often the things that separate acceptable work from properly delivered work.
Operate with discretion
Professionalism includes respecting the client, their property, their time and their privacy throughout the project.
Finish properly
Nearly finished is not finished. The closing stages of a project deserve the same attention and discipline as the beginning.
WHEN THINGS GET DIFFICULT
Problems happen. Standards show in how they're handled.
Construction rarely follows a perfect straight line. Plans change, unexpected issues appear and difficult decisions have to be made.
The standard is not pretending those things never happen. It is staying calm, communicating clearly, taking ownership and finding the right way forward.
THE STANDARD IN PRACTICE
From first conversation to final check.
The standard is not something applied at the end of the job. It shapes how the project is approached from the beginning.
Understand
Know the project, the priorities and the expectation.
Prepare
Establish the people, decisions and sequence required.
Coordinate
Keep contractors, information and delivery aligned.
Deliver
Maintain control of progress, standards and decisions.
Check
Look at what has actually been delivered, not just tick boxes.
Complete
Finish properly and leave nothing important unresolved.
RESPONSIBILITY DOESN'T KEEP OFFICE HOURS
Available when the project genuinely needs us.
Important decisions and problems do not always arrive between nine and five. When a project genuinely needs attention, the people responsible for it need to be reachable.
THE STANDARD
If that sounds demanding, good.
The 1 Percent Team is not built around doing the minimum required. We work best with clients, projects and people who expect more than that.
